This epic scene was found on the exposed west coast of New Zealand's South Island. The remains of a fallen tree had come to rest in the sand. I camped nearby the night before, arriving in darkness - a 20 minute drive down a gravel track. I had no idea what the place was like but decided to check out the beach before dawn and found this place.
A break in the notoriously wet Milford Sound micro climate allows me the opportunity to capture this stunning scene.
